Ship Shape

We ate a lot on the cruise. It was a combination of the always available buffet style dinning, which encourages you try every single thing at every meal, and the fact that it is all free. Technically, the food is not really free, but since it's included in the cost of the cruise, the more you eat, the less you are paying for food. Who can resist that kind of deal?

One morning I took a spinning class and the instructor informed me that people gain between 7 and 14 pounds on this cruise. It sounds unbelievable. That's over a pound a day.

The Robot was determined not to gain so much weight. Every night after dinner he climbed the stairs. Up and down, up and down. No cake could tempt him, no ice cream could stop him. Nothing but his high chair belt could keep him away from those stairs.

In the morning he ran the track with Julia.

He went swimming almost everyday.

On our way back to New York we put Roan on the luggage scale at the airport. He weighed 28 pounds. I don't know what he weighed last week, but I think he got heavier. I think we all did. As a family we probably gained between 7 and 14 pounds.
