Channukah in California
We were in California for the last 2 nights of Channukah, so we got to celebrate with my sister's children. Here are some highlights -
Roan chanting "shin, shin, shin, shin" whenever anyone else spun
Baby Kate *always* spun gimmel. She won a huge pile of gelt both nights
Zachary, recovering from a dreidel related injury. The kids loved to watch the candles when they burned low and take bets on which candle would burn out first.

Wetsuits
Tonight, after a cold and miserable winter day, I was thinking about summer. I realized that I never did anything with our photos from Plum Island this year. I looked through them and got nostalgic for the warm weather. I particularly love this one of the boys in their wetsuits and Jay shlepping all our stuff. I usually love the shots of us on the beach, loafing in the sand carefree, or playing in the water. But you know, we have to get there somehow, and for Jay and me it requires carrying a lot of stuff.

The Little Outside
Lani,
This post is so I don't forget that at one time, you called our backyard The Little Outside. Today, while we were walking to preschool in the rain, you were worried that all the snow would melt in the little outside and we wouldn't be able to make a snow man. You really want to make a snow man in the little outside, and have even picked a carrot out of our fridge for a nose. I'm sorry that I refuse to help you do this. We haven't even been home from California, where it was 75 degrees and sunny, for a week, and I just cannot bear to spend any time playing in the cold and snow.
When it was warmer, you asked to ride your scooter in the little outside. For now, Roan pulls you around on a green sled out there, and you pile up snow in small plastic bowls for Snow Snacks (snow with juice poured on it). My apologies that I probably won't be joining you in the little outside until Spring.

Roan Faces
We had family photos shot back in September or October, and I'm just now getting around to looking through them all and choosing out my favorites. I am doing this mainly for future Cameron, so I can remember us all at our most recently bathed and attractive. These are my favorite shots of Roan, from Fall 2014. He is in the 1st grade.
